TEDDY ROSALIE NEEDS TO GROW TALLER SO SHE’D BE EASIER TO PHOTOGRAPH!
I’m bored!
Just like any other dependent, Teddy Rosalie hates chilling out at home on a nice summer day, but today was too hot (90° F) for me to go to a park.
I considered taking her to the Albright Knox Art Gallery, but Teddy Rosalie thought it would be foolish to waste admission cost and parking on artists inferior to me.
Teddy Rosalie is my biggest, albeit somewhat misguided, supporter.
Also, the Albright Knox does not allow photography by visitors inside the building, and we all know what a ham Teddy Rosalie is.
Right next to Albright Knox is the Buffalo History Museum – lower admission (especially if you’re old like me!), free parking, photos allowed so long as you don’t use a flash – and after driving past it twice a day for the last 17-1/2 years, I figured it was time to visit.
What a great choice!
Teddy Rosalie loves to climb on things.

And Teddy Rosalie loves sliding down staircase railings.
Some of the exhibits made her just a bit nervous, I don’t know why.
WHY DOES THIS MAKE ME THINK OF NOT CM?
But then we found the model train exhibit – everyone loves that!

The operator of the model train exhibit, Ed Kowal (see credit under photo), was kind enough to stop the train so Teddy Rosalie could get a really good look (and I could get a better photo). Thank you, Ed!
By now, Teddy Rosalie was running out of steam and wanting a nap. Good thing I was able to stop her from climbing into the traveling trunk exhibit.
My favorite exhibit, however, was the wall where visitors left notes saying why they had come. I was tempted to leave a note with the URL for this website, but thought the museum management might object to free advertising. There were two notes, however, which I found especially interesting:
I BELIEVE SHE MOVED IN NEXT TO ME
I SURE HOPE THEY FOUND EACH OTHER
Before heading back to the car, Teddy Rosalie and I found a nice bench outside next to the Japanese garden. Just what we both needed to relax for a few minutes.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this little view into one of Buffalo, New York’s best kept secrets. If you’re ever in town, I’ll be glad to take you there.

Gorgeous CM – and Teddy Rosalie is very photogenic (surprisingly I could get the scale from her being in the picture and it enhanced the understanding).

Thanks, Paul. I was a little surprised myself at how tiny she looks in some of the photos – but then, she’s only 9 inches from the top of her head to the sole of her foot, and only 7 inches high when sitting.

We did, Willow. Going to be too hot to go anywhere the next couple of days, so I wanted to make the most of it.

It’s a very small museum, Dan. It really doesn’t take more than an hour to see everything, unless you want to watch the model trains for awhile.

never been, Have to put it on the list for our next trip to Buffalo….which won;t be with the traffic on the weekends lately….. too soon. We went to visit my SIL on Grand Island and were amazed at the amount of cars and trucks at all the toll booths. Just crazy.

I’m like 10 minutes from the Grand Island bridges. Hubby works on Grand Island, and he hates those bridges.

That did turn out well, didn’t it? Fortunately, the space in the railing was just wide enough for me to wedge her in so she didn’t really slide down.

I know, right? All the years I drove past that place, it never occurred to me it would have been a wonderful place for a quiet lunch.

You have reminded me how few places I’ve actually visited in the past few years. I LOVE your creativity, CM, and Teddy? she is the coolest! I laughed out loud at what two people wrote why they moved here. LOL Love the humor throughout this post and I thank you for giving me some laughs. Glad you got out to do some sightseeing. Perhaps we may want to think about doing something indoors versus outside. It is just SO hot!!! ❤
