I’m happy to report that it’s sunny today, with relatively mild temperatures for this time of year.
That was not the case earlier in the week.
Wednesday morning:
What would normally be a 35-minute drive to work took an hour and 20 minutes. Really, it wasn’t snowing all that hard – you’d think people in Buffalo, New York could manage to get to where they were going on time. It’s not like we never had snow and ice before.
Anyway.
The snow stopped by the time I actually got downtown, and then started up again in mid-afternoon. Glancing out my office window, I saw this (that’s the actual view, not a really bad photo!)

“Whiteout”
Fortunately, the snow stopped again prior to rush hour. It only took me 45 minutes to get home.
This will be a good weekend to stay in, avoid the crowds, and catch up on housework and gift-wrapping. That probably also means not much picture-taking, unless I suddenly become inspired. Which isn’t likely, since I also plan to nap as much as possible.
Enjoy your weekend, wherever you are.

Maybe people were driving slow because they were admiring the beauty of the snow.
I love that shot of the glasses.

Thanks, Tippy. I am very proud of that glasses photo. It’s gotta be one of my best ever.

Love that ‘whiteout’ pic. Feel like being on the edge of something.. 🙂

Thank you. It felt a little freaky watching that snow come down and not being able to see my own car, which was right under that window!

Great photos, CM. I think the worst days at work are ones where the weather appears to be heading south.

Thanks, Dan. Check out the photo of poor Cody over on Flickr – she was upset during today’s rain-to-snow storm. Of course, hubby is upset that I not only took that photo, but also published it …

Oh my. She looks like Maddie when she’s having an episode. So sad, but totally understandable to any dog owner.

Thank you, Dan. As a dog owner, I knew you’d understand. Non-dog-owners are likely to see that photo and think she’s been abused.

We didn’t get anything like you endured, CM. It will come, I’m sure. I’m glad I live two miles from my workplace library.

It wasn’t so much the bad weather; it’s just that people forget how to drive. And this time of year, there are lots of people out and about during rush hour who really shouldn’t be driving at all.

Yes, for sure, CM.
