My intentions are always good.
Every day I plan to walk on my lunch hour and perhaps take some photos, but every day I get lazy and simply eat at my desk instead:

At least I have a door I can shut while I read and eat.
Today is my day off. When I took Puppy Cody out at 6 am, it was foggy, but the temperature was comfortable. What a perfect morning to drive somewhere with my camera!
But I’m lazy. And the fog dissipated. And I didn’t feel like going anywhere that early.
So I sat down to eat breakfast.
And noticed the hollowed out tree next to my dining room window. I knew there was a nest in that hole because I had seen birds going in and out.
Well, I’m not too lazy to open a window, and balance my zoom lens camera on the window frame. Hope you enjoy these photos, ’cause my breakfast was cold by the time I got back to it:

Looking for Mom

Dinner Is Served!

Are You Talking to Me?
(And I sure hope my next-door neighbor didn’t see me pointing the camera out my window towards his house, and think I was trying to take weird pictures or something. I’ll have to show him that nest next time I see him.)
Happy Friday, Folks.

You’re probably right, Dan. Fog photos would have been, well, foggy. These are much nicer, and were much more fun.

Uh-oh. Your neighbor is going to start closing his blinds. I love those shots. The zoom on that camera is amazing.

My neighbor is a minister. I think he’ll understand my enthusiasm for fledgling birds, especially once I tell him about the nest so he can show his young children. (And yes, I think I’m beginning to make friends with the Nikon Coolpix. It’s excellent on close-ups.)

Oh, hadn’t thought of that. Guess I’d better warn my neighbor that I might be hanging out my window with a zoom lensed camera.

Great baby bird photos! Those are hard to get. I see nests, but I never see anything IN them!

I will take my bow, now. Finally, a “good” photo! The funny part was I had commented to my husband just the other day that if I really was a photographer I would climb up a ladder so I could see inside that tree hole. I never realized I could see it from my own dining room window until one day I had company for lunch, and my visitor noticed it. That tree is only about 15 feet away, and the first floor of the house is elevated just enough.
