I’ve seen more than a few posts recently from bloggers who claim to have run out of ideas for stories.
In order to keep the blogosphere running as it should (because I’m just so wonderful), I’m making an unusual offer today:
Below is a small collection of my photos, some of which have been used here and some of which haven’t, but all are Creative Commons licensed. Every blogger, everywhere, is invited – for free! – to use any one (or more) of these photos as the basis for a blog post (or posts). All I ask is that you link back to my site, both through the post and through the photo itself, and do not use any photo for any commercial purpose without my permission. (If you’re getting paid for it, I want some of that.)
(If you don’t know how to set the photo to automatically link back here, email me at cordeliasmom2012@yahoo.com, and I will be happy to walk you through it. Lord knows I need the exposure.)

Go for it, people! If there’s enough response, I may possibly consider making this a regular feature of my blog (“Foto Fest” perhaps?). Just think: excellent photography to inspire your own creative work. Who can ask for anything more?
(And it would give me something to do with my time, and a reason to get my ass out and actually photograph something.)
Waiting to hear from you …
(BTW, you can also use the photo at the top of this post (“Decorative Grass”), or any photo you find on my Flickr.com or YouPic.com sites. Please do!)

It’s funny, but I never run out of blog ideas. Not that I ever post anything earth shattering… but there’s always something ridiculous happening around me that’s worth a few lines!

You’re very lucky. It took me a number of years to run out of steam, but eventually I found myself doing more and more re-blogging of older posts. Maybe it was just the winter doldrums, or maybe it’s because I’m getting older and more tired, but it happened. Hopefully, I’ll find some reason to start posting more.

Maybe, but I’ve been blogging for 14 years… if I haven’t run out of silliness yet, it’s doubtful I ever will.

Great idea, CM. I don’t know if I’ll use them, but Inlike the idea. I just might! Thanks.

Clever way to support your fellow bloggers!
I really, and I mean, really like the shot of the side mirror, as well as the tree — both moody good.
Happy Weekend!

Ha, it’s really just a clever way to get more exposure for my own blog, but we won’t tell anyone that, right? Heaven forbid anyone would think I’d do something nice for fellow bloggers, even though I do totally understand how hard it is at times to come up with a good post idea and how much I would have at times appreciated receiving such an offer myself.
(And thanks for the compliments on the photos. I happen to like those two as well.)

How in the heck can anyone run out of ideas for stories??? I don’t get it! But what a generous woman you are allowing others to use your photographs to inspire stories. Loved your pics but especially the one of the rear view mirror and the pond. The glasses are cool too. There are times there are things right in front of our noses that would make for a neat picture or story but people don’t even see those. Great post, CM!!

I’m finding that I do better with photos of everyday things, taken inside. Or things like buildings and lakes that don’t move. I really suck at trying to get photos of living, moving things – even Cody, unless she just happens to be in a cooperative mood. As for post ideas, I find myself running on empty these days, mostly because I’m simply too tired to care. Maybe if we ever get out of the winter doldrums, my energy level will improve. Meanwhile, I figure other people might be able to build posts based on my photos – helping them, and giving me some exposure to my site that I wouldn’t otherwise have.
