What can I say?  Everyone likes new clothes.

As most of you know, Teddy Rosalie has been wearing the same white sweater forever, year-round, no matter whether it’s hot or cold, rainy or dry.  Even an old teddy bear can get tired of wearing the same outfit every day – and I did promise to start taking her out more often.

But I’m not particularly eager to take a tiny teddy bear into a clothing store or mall, or even a toy store, because I’m afraid someone will accuse me of shoplifing the bear.  Not that it would matter here in New York State, what with bail reform and all, where no one gets prosecuted for anything any more – but still, it’s not worth the hassle to me.

So I gave Teddy Rosalie access to my computer (under my supervision, of course), and we began perusing Amazon.  It’s really amazing how you can find pretty much anything on Amazon, even clothing for an 8″ teddy bear.  Teddy Rosalie simply loved the tiny princess and ballerina outfits, but those are a little pricey, and I’m not likely to take her anywhere that would require that kind of dress-up.  I finally got her to agree (after tolerating a temper tantrum or two) that a couple of new sweaters or hoodies, or maybe a shirt-and-skirt outfit, would be more practical.

And I also got her to understand that money is tight right now and she might have to wait until there’s a little extra cash floating around before she can get anything.  After all, so long as she’s just sitting on that high shelf, there’s no reason her old white sweater can’t last a little longer. (Doesn’t that sound just like a mom?)

As an aside – ain’t the internet wonderful?  When I searched the web, I found quite a few free crochet and knitting patterns for tiny teddy bear outfits, and I do have all that donated yarn.  Maybe Teddy Rosalie will receive a surprise soon.

And then, Puppy Cody will be jealous.  Guess maybe I’ll have to make her a doggie sweater.  The demands just never stop.
