Thanks to all those who responded to my question on yesterday’s post. It’s a gray catbird.
Now, on to the next “mystery” – can you find the dog in this photo? Puppy Cody thinks she’s safely hidden. LOL.

Camouflage – when the dog matches the decor a little too well.
(And for all you eagle-eyed perfectionists: We will be pulling out those little strips of carpet in the near future; we just wanted to get the majority of the stinky 70-year-old carpet out and something cleaner put down asap. We also will be re-painting the walls soon. There was only so much we could do in one day.)

My parents dog, Favour (the Door Dog if you recall), used to think if you couldn’t see his head, you couldn’t see any of him so many a time you had this white rump sticking out from under a chair or the bed.
Now Barney (Maggie’s predecessor) used to ‘hide’ his biscuits…… he would stand his bonios on their ends in the doorway, and heaven help you if you moved them!!

You’ve been busy.
We have a blonde chihuahua, and a blonde-colored tile floor, and she blends in very well. I’m surprised nobody’s stepped on her yet.

We’ll continue to be very busy for awhile. We discovered some areas where the hardwood is damaged beyond repair, or where linoleum was pasted over it, so we’ll have to re-carpet those areas. Plus, we’re going to re-do the kitchen floor, finally. Then, the rest of the downstairs painting needs to be done. Hopefully after that, we’ll be done for awhile.

Sounds like a lot of work. Maybe you can find some way to get your dog to help.

Well, I have thought about taping a paint brush to her tail …

We don’t have the gray catbird here in the UK. I do see Cody bless her 💜

Probably Cody should have put her head under the table – then certainly no one would be able to see her.

Your home is your home, CM. Too bad if others disapprove. My house is so lived in I’ve given up trying to have the “perfect home”. I’d rather live with the love our cats give us then have pristine rugs and furniture. It is what it is. Have a great Sunday!! xo

Thanks, Amy. I’m just trying to bring our house into the 21st century so that we’ll be able to sell it when we need to. Meanwhile, I’m enjoying the improvements we’ve been able to make.

Groan. Don’t remind me of the “sell” word. We have SO much work to be done yet it truly cannot be done until our cats are no longer here. Meanwhile, Hubby and I are not getting younger. Catch 22. LOL

I hear you. Puppy Cody is just a little bigger than most apartments will allow, so we plan to stay in the house until she’s no longer with us, if we can. She’s 7, so there’s probably another 5 years or more before we can sell. By then, some of the work we did may need to be re-done. Ugh.

Dogs are so much better than people, in many cases.
