Puppy Cody had just finished her nightly business in the back yard, and I left hubby to bring her in while I went back to the house. A few minutes later, hubby came in, exclaiming, “You just missed it! There’s a huge orange moon out there.”
Say what? An orange moon?
Well, I’m notorious for never having my camera at the right time and missing too many unique shots. By gummy, this time I was going to get that photo!
So, I ran out with camera in hand.
In my indoor shoes.
Forgetting that it’s been raining for weeks, and the back yard is a swamp.
My indoor shoes have now become outdoor shoes.
Good thing I just bought several more pair (hey, I learned long ago – if the shoe fits, buy several pairs in different colors).
But at least I got the photo:
Hope my misadventure has brought some joy to you. It was fun, despite the mud.

Great moon shot!
I also buy shoes in multiple colors because I know when I need them again, they won’t be there anymore. I only wish I’d bought two pair in black instead of one in black and the other in brown!

Thanks, Marilyn. The camera cooperated for once. As for the shoes (sneakers, actually), the store only carried white and black, but I found two other colors online.

Thanks, Amy. I actually thought about you as I was taking those photos. Wish I had a tripod – I couldn’t keep the camera from shaking. But at least it has a “moon” setting with a delayed shutter, so I just kept clicking until the picture was centered.

Oh wow! I always take the moon with a tripod. You need to be mighty proud of yourself for that picture. Nice!!

Great picture, CM. I don’t buy different colors, but if I find a shoe I like, I buy multiples.

Thanks, Dan. I don’t know about you, but after suffering from plantar fasciitis, I learned to buy only certain brands of sneakers – and when I find a comfy one, I stick with it.

I made that a priority after I broke my foot.

You captured a gorgeous moon, CM! Congratulations on your quickness and talent. (And, hey, mud might wash off those shoes with a good wipe, too.)

Thanks, Mark. I’m sure it was the same moon over at your place. Had it not been for my husband pointing it out, I would have missed the whole thing. The mud did (mostly) rinse off the sneakers, but they’re still wet this morning.

Beautiful pic! Well worth losing indoor shoes.

Actually, I was able to rinse most of the mud off, so I can still use them for everyday errands and stuff. Thanks for the comment on the photo!

Definitely. And the good news is that most of the mud washed off, so I can still use the shoes for everyday errands and such.

Thank you! TOTALLY worth the mud. At least from where I sit:).

It definitely was worth it. One of the few times I was able to get my camera out and ready fast enough. It’s amazing how much that moon can move in just a few minutes.
