Calling Out Thanks

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI have a number of reasons to be grateful for my readers.

First off, thank you to those readers who suggested adding a magnesium supplement to my diet.  The leg cramps have pretty much stopped!  I still get twinges periodically, especially at night, but they no longer turn into full-blown Charlie Horses.  Such a relief!

Second, thank you to everyone who gave me that much needed emotional support during my recent melt-down.  You folks are the best!

Black Cat Blue Sea AwardAnd third – yet another award nomination from a fellow blogger!  Actually, two nominations, both from Stephanie at Making Time For Me.  I am honored to accept the nomination for the Black Cat Blue Sea Award and to participate in the Four Fact Survey Fun Tag.

I am going to stretch my responses out over the next couple of days, rather than publish one really, really long post.  Join me tomorrow for my acceptance post for the Black Cat Blue Sea Award, and the next day for the Four Fact Survey Fun Tag response.

See you then!

Great news all around CM! So cool that adding magnesium helped the cramps -I’ll have to remember that one.

    • You have to be really careful with the dosage of magnesium, Paul. It can accumulate in your body and become toxic. it is definitely not recommended for people with existing kidney disease. The daily dose for me, according to the bottle, is 300 mg per day, so I take just 200 mg. I haven’t been on it long enough to know if there will be any long-term side effects.

Hi – I agree with your comment to Paul and about being careful with magnesium (and glad it worked for you)
and I think the health ranger (at natural news) has a GREAT section on the different magnesiums.

and for me- well I always use a formula – like Trader Joe’s has a friggin awesome cal mag in a green base that my body loved in 2013. I now take a magnifical from LOGOs brand and it has all these little things in it that are supposed to help make it more bioavailable – and it does seem to work.

the other thing about magnesium – and there is a clogger (clueless doctors) who did her thesis n school on the topic and she says lack of it is the source of most migraines – but I think parasites and the pathogens play a major role in most illness – but she loves to suggest magnesium to folks

the very last thing to chime in with – have you heard of “Calm” magnesium? the guy who made it could not find a good absorbable mag and so he made his own formula and it is now award winning. I have friends who RAVE of this and I have given it to people who thank me – but it was not an elixir for me (not like the the trader joes one) – and so it is reminder that so many of us have different bodies and then it changes as to what we need –
but so glad you have found one that is working.

    cheers – and hugs

    • My health insurance gives me $250 a year to use at the local health food store, on anything in the store – so that’s where I’ve been getting my vitamins and minerals. They had a chelated magnesium in 100 mg tablets, so I can take 2 or 3 a day, depending on my needs. So far, I’m feeling pretty good on it.

Another one here on magnesium for leg cramps. My naturopath also suggested regular baths with epsom salts.
