The holidays are nearly over. It’s 2016 already!
It was nice having people visit and an incentive to really get the house clean. Top to bottom. Even the bathroom passed inspection.
But now the guests are gone. The decorations have been put away, or soon will be. Time to get back to normal.
Time to attack that laundry!
(Thank you, Jamie – for understanding, and for the silly props.)

I hesitate to even imagine what this place will look like when we get back. Oy.

You might have noticed that I didn’t show any of the rest of my house. 🙂

I’m so glad someone liked them! My husband could not understand why Jamie gave me toy figures for Christmas.

What is this “normal” you speak of 😉
Hope 2016 is an awesome year for you

Ah, I’m afraid I can’t answer that question. My life has probably never really been normal.
Happy New Year to you, too, Al. I have great expectations for 2016.

Thanks. I have a whole cookie tin of tiny figures of various eras and professions. They’ll pop up in my photos from time to time, just to add a little whimsy.

Very cool – and it reminds me of some of the work of Jennifer Nichols Welles – not sure if u have been to her blog – but your art side with the figures is very similar – h😃

No, I’m not familiar with her – I’ll have to check her out. I actually got the idea from following photographer Stevie Spiers on Flickr.com. He does not a lot of whimsical photos using little people figures.

Thanks. I checked her out – she makes my photography look really, really amateurish! But I’m going to forgive her for that. 🙂

Ha – u are so humble – and not sure if u remember me but I think you and I connected a little when I was blogging under the “prior house” blog – which is. I longer active – anyhow, Jennifer is one of the sweetest ladies around – just so kind –

I do remember you, Yvette. I didn’t realize the Prior House blog was no longer active (my bad). I’ve found your new site now.

Somebody’s shooting Ronald McDonald??? Or is that Carrottop? Either way, not a moment too soon. 😯 Thanx Jamie!
Happy New Year! May it be happy and profitable. 😆

When I opened the package on Christmas morning, we all thought it was Ronald, but since the toys were made in China, who knows? I just liked the way that particular figure was holding its hands up in surrender, while the other one was approaching with a club. I was going to add something to the description about fighting calories as well as laundry, but figured some of my readers might not get that reference.

Ha! Who says they’re actually shooting? I’d worry about the guy with the club, though.
Thanks for the re-blog, Jason. I figured everyone could use a little whimsy after the stress of the holidays.

We were on our way to visit the MIL. They are on lock-down at the Senior Center with the flu. She called as we were packing up the car. Last year…the Noro virus took over and we all got sick. Ugh. Happy New Year !! ☺

When my mother was in the nursing home, it got locked down at least twice a year for flu outbreaks. I was always torn between wanting to go anyway to make sure she was ok, and wanting to stay as far away as possible to protect myself. Hope everyone at your mother-in-law’s place comes through the episode ok.

The laundry can wait. In this area, the sunshine could disappear any second.
