HAPPY NEW YEAR’S, EVERYONE!
Let this be a lesson to all of you: Think before you post in anger. On Christmas Eve, I posted The Grinch Is Alive and Well, and Living at My Place of Employment because no one in my office had received the annual Christmas bonus. As it turns out, my boss was “very busy” that week and simply “forgot” that the bonus is traditionally given out before Christmas and not after. At any rate, the situation has been resolved. The bonuses were issued this week and were quite generous.
In addition, Santa was very good to me. Santa (a/k/a my 3 girls and their significant others) brought me the digital point-and-shoot camera that I had asked for so that I can now take my very own pictures for this blog.
Wonderful, artistic pictures – like this:
Or like this:
And pictures of Puppy Cody, like this:
Or like this:
OK, so maybe I’d better read the manual, and play with the camera bit more before I actually publish any photos.
[BTW, this camera has a “Beauty” setting – I can hardly wait to take a selfie and then “beautify” it so that I wind up looking like a 21-year-old fashion model! Woo-hoo!]
For now, I’ll continue to use Flickr.com for most of my post pictures – but just wait! A photographic genius is in the making, and you are invited to join me in my newest endeavor. I know you’re all eagerly anticipating Cordelia’s Mom: The Photographer.

Very nice CM. I especially enjoyed the pictures of your shoes, fingers, furniture, and of course part of Cody. Looking forward to future pics of equal or greater quality. Bwahahaha!
Hope your New Year is wonderful!

Glad my finger passes medical approval. 🙂 Yes, now that I have that bonus, I can get the leaky window in the living room replaced and the wall fixed. Woo-hoo!

Don’t forget something *just for you* too!
TeeHee – fingers and fingers and shoes, Oh My!
What is it they say? “Fail fast, fail often – it’s the only way to really learn what you’re doing.” Many happy fails to you, CM, and Happy New Year in your newly cozy living room 😉

Thanks, Karen. My husband has been given a list of contractors to call – let’s see how long it takes him to actually do that.

Hahaha… I guess posting in anger is a bit like “drunk dialling” Glad you got your bonus and many happy hours with your new toy.

Thanks! I do have other shoes I can photograph, as well as different parts of the floor. Certainly something to look forward to.

OMG, I am rolling looking at your pictures…and it’s even funnier to me because I have a friend who is NOTORIOUS for doing similar images…and we always joke about how she needs to come and be my second on shoots. 😀 I can now put you on that list!
PS…glad you got your bonus!!! 🙂

I gotta tell you, it wasn’t all that easy to take those “mistakes” – the new cameras are designed to compensate for errors. I was especially pleased that I was able to get that cut-off selfie on the first try inasmuch as the view screen was on the other side of the camera. 🙂

I am going to be totally honest with you…I have never EVER taken a successful whole-face selfie with a real camera. I don’t do a lot of selfies (unless I’m in the dentist chair, of course, haha), but when I do? I have to use my tablet or phone, simply because I have to see what I’m putting in the frame. 😉
I love these…I really do!

Maybe your boss read your angry post, felt bad, and decided to do something about it. Ah, the power of the press (or WordPress). Anyway, I’m glad you got your bonus, sprung for the camera and now, if you can just figure out how to frame your pictures and get your finger out of the way, no doubt you’ll become an excellent photographer in 2015.

Naw, if my boss was reading my blog, I probably would have been fired after my real estate stories. I’m just glad he finally “remembered” that bonuses were in order.
As soon as it stops snowing and gets up past 5 degrees, I plan to start taking outdoor photos. Can’t hardly wait.

Glad to hear you got your bonus. Enjoy getting to know your camera. It’s always fun learning to play with a new toy, and it’s something we never grow out of. I’ve had my digital camera for three years now and still manage to take pictures of my feet…

I actually had a little difficulty getting just the right angle for that sneaker shot! Sometimes intentional “mistakes” are harder to shoot than real pictures. Thanks for reading, and commenting.

Was that your ‘talking to cab-drivers’ finger? 😉 Cody looks a little better behind your finger, than behind the fence.

Cody is very pretty no matter how she’s photographed.
I think that might have been Not CM’s finger instead of mine.

Thanks. If the weather ever climbs past 10 degree Fahrenheit, I’ll be able to go out and start taking those pictures. It’s too hard right now to take photos while wearing those thick Eskimo type gloves!
